I am a writer, curator and art critic with more than ten years of experience in cultural diplomacy, curatorial projects, and the development of cultural programs. I have cultivated an in-depth knowledge of both modern and contemporary art. My expertise in promoting cultural heritage is complemented by my engagement with current conversations on art such as transnationality, identity, and memory. These themes have accompanied me through years of living in Monterrey, Rio de Janeiro, Washington DC, Milan, Venice, and Brussels.
I have conceived and organized several exhibitions for galleries, museums, and public spaces in the United States, Italy, France, Finland and Belgium, developing the operational expertise to realize exhibitions within international cultural institutions. Alongside my curatorial work, I research, write and edit exhibition catalogues, reports, reviews, essays, and academic articles on various interdisciplinary artistic events. I currently write several books, including a fiction novel.
My work as a curator, museum educator, writer, editor, and translator is grounded in a passion for telling stories that honor research and analysis to leverage cultural diversity within a multicultural environment.
I hold a B.A. in Journalism and Media Studies from ITESM, an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and an M.A. in Art History and Archaeology from Université Libre de Bruxelles, with a focus in Museums and Conservation of Movable Heritage. I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy, Art, and Social Thought at The European Graduate School.
I currently serve as board member of ICOM Belgium and am also member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA).
